Meeting on the last Sunday of each month at the BBQ area of Oasis at 12.30pm followed by a BBQ.
The Fishing Club was established to enable those residents interested in fishing to join together socially and support and assist one another in their angling pursuits. Some members have boats and others are happy to fish the local beaches or rivers so you don’t need a boat to participate. We may also arrange outside trips periodically with local professionals. There is no cost involved in joining the Club and we plan excursions and social activities throughout the year. Being a member ensures you are kept informed of our activities and can participate in any excursions we offer.
To join contact Secretary, Lynne Pramana @ Villa 191
Internal phone 2091 or Landline: 66189191

Library Contact Sue Christie on 2468
We are grateful to the Residents Committee who give us money each quarter and go Woolworths book shop as they are the best price.  We also do get some donations, which we are very happy with if they are quite new, but we do have some problems as a few residents put some very old books which we do not want.  There are normally about 300 borrowings each month.   There is also another library in the Old Clubhouse which has seconds of the Oasis library and these can be taken on holiday if residents are  away for some time and they can be left behind if  too much luggage.
We would also like residents to put their books back into the box for us to put back on the shelves, as sometimes they are put back in the wrong place.
There are also quite a lot of jigsaw puzzles ranging from 100 to 2000 pieces which can also be borrowed.

Line Dancing : Contact: Sharyn Hogben on 2203
The Line Dancing Group gets together three times a week in the Oasis Clubhouse on Monday at 10.30am, Wednesday at 10.30am and Thursday at 9.00am.  Monday and Wednesday classes are for General Line Dancing whereas Thursday is a little more advanced.  Line Dancing is not only the old boot scootin’ of years gone by but also now includes waltzes, cha cha, rhumbas, etc. While the focus of the group is to learn Line Dancing, our main aim is to just get out, dance and have fun.  We’re not too serious about ourselves and always manage to have a laugh.  Beginners are warmly welcomed into the group and if you need a little extra tuition to get you started we’re more than happy to oblige. Come and have a try and see if it’s for you. For more information contact Sharyn Hogben on 2203 or mobile 0414419599.

New singers very welcome. If you can’t sing ….that’s OK….neither can we …..but we have fun trying.
OK all you Wannabe Pop Stars now is your chance to shine.  If you love singing and want to sing strictly for fun then this is the group for you.  We’ll be meeting once a week to belt out a few numbers and you will get to choose the songs you want to sing (kind of like Karaoke where the words are up on the big screen!). We will be meeting in the Cinema at the Oasis Club on Thursdays at 3.00 pm Only criteria is that you are able to laugh!  Doesn’t matter at all about the voice. Any queries call Chris on 0400 160 713.

Table Tennis Contact Terry Ryan on 2455 or Ray Morgan on 2456
Table tennis is all very casual…no set competition…equipment is in the cupboard near the door to the toilet…we just ask that we be contacted to move the table in the old Clubhouse, which is a bit finicky. We play regularly around 2pm Monday and Friday.

Tai Chai Contact Linda Duke-Yonge on 2497 or Contact mobile :  0411 661 565 Monday and Saturday at 9.00 am in the Oasis.
(Monday  $5 to teacher, plus $1 to a charity collection (this dollar is voluntary as is the amount, and at the end of each year we donate over $600 to a local charity, “The Suicide Prevention Group” )
(Saturday is a practice session and there is no charge for that.)

Tennis Contact: Derek Audus on 2204 or 0418 971 902
Monday, Wednesday and Saturday at 7.30 am
Over Christmas we play as normal with no obligation to attend if you are busy. If you have a family tennis player visiting,  please bring them along. We can help with a spare racquet if needed.
Everyone is welcome to join our tennis group. We play mainly doubles for up to 3 hours between 7:30 and 10:30 on Saturday, Monday, and Wednesday. That may sound like a long time to some people, so we suggest you play for the length of time that suits you. We normally play doubles (mixed if possible) with just four games per set. That way we can alternate partners and take a rest if needed.
We like to have fun and a bit of banter when we play so all standards of players are welcome. For those who wish to play for a long time we generally have a few more serious games of doubles and singles towards the end of the session. There is no charge to play – just a small contribution for balls every 3 months. New players are encouraged to come along to any session or call Derek (Villa 204) on 0418 971 902.

Workshop : Contact Ted Hearn-Batute
If you’d like to use the Workshop, the first thing you have to do is attend a Safety Information Session. This has been put together in conjunction with Palm Lake Head Office and the Workshop Committee. Once you’ve done this you can come into the Workshop, but you cannot use the machinery until you can prove that you’re competent in doing so. The Committee members will explain everything to you. The Workshop is for you to use to work on your own projects whatever they may be, and the Committee members are more than willing to talk to you about your project and if needed, offer advice. You might even be able to offer them some advice! We have a very good selection of the basic wood and metal machinery, so come along and get those projects going. Want to know more? Contact Ted in Villa 145 (Phone 2145).
